My school also has Moodle. Last year w...Hi Jamie, <br /><br />My school also has Moodle. Last year was the first year that I used Moodle. I like it because it provided a secure environment for my students to participate in my course. One aspect that moodle provides is a blog like discussion forum. the down side to using moodle for this is that it is only open to the enrolled classmates. The more that I have learned about Blogs I have come to believe the best feature of a blog is the fact that it is open to the world to see which provides more motivation for students to produce high quality work. When the discussion board is locked behind a secure classroom of only classmates some students lack the intrinsic motivation to produce a professional product. <br /><br />One of the challenges I have found when using Moodle discussion forums comes with the amount of students you have participating in your course. If you have a 100+ students it becomes difficult to offer feedback on the discussion board for that many students. How many students would you have involved in your discussion boards?
